A GUIDE FOR THE PERFECT SPRAY TAN PREPARATION.

DAY BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

+ NO SPRAY TANNING IF YOU HAVE A SUNBURN | If you’ve had a sunburn in the past four weeks or currently have one, please reschedule. Skin damage from a sunburn can last up to 3 MONTH. So even if there is no peeling or visible damage, the skin is in repair mode. Spraying over a burn will accelerate the peeling process and result in an uneven / patchy tan.

+ Avoid any retinols/exfoliants/accutane a week before |These are exfoliants which will result in a patchiness on the face. The face can always be skipped during your service if avoiding these is not an option.

+ Wax/Shave Any Unwanted Body Hair | Be sure to wax at least 48 hours prior to your appointment and shaving should be done 24 hours before. Try to avoid razors with moisture strips , be sure to wash you legs after so there is no left over residue.

+ Exfoliate Entire Body | We advise against using a body scrub/loofah combo, these tend to be oil-based and will leave a residue. Pay attention to the creases of elbows, in-between the breasts, and behind the knees when exfoliating.

+ Manicure/Pedicure | If completed day-of tan, let your nail artist to avoid and oils/lotions. If completed days after tan, your tan may become uneven due to soaking, acetone, oils, lotions, etc.

+ Avoid Bar Soaps Or Cream-Based Body Washes | Stay away from any Dove (especially) Dial, & Bath and Body Works products. These are known to leave a residue on the skin resulting in a streaky tan . Any gel-based body washes work best. Showering should be done at least FOUR hours prior to tanning to allow your pH levels to neutralize.

+ No Lotions, Oils, Deodorant, Perfumes, Skin Care Products, Or Makeup | These act as barriers to spray tan solution resulting in the tan not adhering properly.

+ Wear Dark, Loose-Fitting Clothing With Open-Toed Sandals | The looser, the better. Sweats work best, you will want to avoid any tight clothing such as leggings, sports bras or jeans. Wearing these will result in an uneven tan.

+ Do Not Get Wet Or Sweat Until Your Initial Rinse | This is your perfect “get out of jail free” card! No washing dishes, no giving baths, no hair appointments NOTHING. This is your time to sit on the couch & chill. In case of an accident, grab a fluffy makeup brush and buff out the water. marks. We do offer Touch Up Spray bottles that are great to have on hand in case of emergencies.

+ Rinse Hands in 1.5-3 Hours| During your service your spray tan artist will give you a specific time to rinse your hands, be sure to follow these instructions. Hands tend to pull color a lot quicker than the rest of our bodies so we always advise rinsing them at you designated time.

+ Rinse In Lukewarm Water With No Soap | This is just a rinse off. No body products such as body wash, use your hands or a wash cloth to help wash off the bronzers.

+ Wait Until Your Color Is Fully Developed To Moisturize | Tans typically take 24 hours to fully develop, you want to give it the full processing tan before applying any products. This is why it is ideal to get sprayed 2-3 days before your event.
